Alfred George Wilson, born on May 7, 1937, in St. Louis, Missouri, to George and Sarah Wilson (nee Mills), departed this world on February 22, 2025, surrounded by his loving children in Lake St. Louis, Missouri. His remarkable life was a testament to his generosity of spirit and unwavering love for those he cherished.
Alfred's giving personality was evident to everyone who knew him. He dedicated his life to nurturing and supporting his family, with his proudest accomplishments being the love he gave to his beloved wife, Ethel Lowella Wilson (nee Staples), and their children. A devoted husband and father, Alfred's legacy will forever be carried on by his children: Cheryl (Richard) Kosdrosky, Stephen A. Wilson, Louis G. (Laura) Wilson, and Eugene W. (Karen) Wilson. As a grandfather, he took immense joy in the lives of his grandchildren: Aaron (Nicole) Kosdrosky, Matthew Wilson, and Michael (Kinsey) Wilson. He also embraced the role of great-grandfather to Harper Wilson and Madelyn and Melaina Morris, providing a deeply rooted sense of family that will carry on through generations.
Alfred found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He loved spending weekends on the serene waters, indulging his passion for trout fishing, often with family by his side. His enthusiasm for softball kept him active and engaged, allowing him to forge lasting friendships and create cherished memories that brought laughter and joy to his life.
He was a treasured member of his family, who will always hold dear the memories they shared. Alfred's love for his sisters, Sally Medsker and Clara Blake, as well as those unforgettable moments spent with his late brothers, Gilbert and Donald Wilson, illustrated the profound connections that shaped his life.
He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Ethel, whose memory he carried with him every day. With each cherished recollection, a piece of Ethel accompanied him, illuminating his path with the love they cultivated together.
As we celebrate Alfred's life, we remember him not just for his accomplishments, but for the warmth and compassion he brought into the lives of everyone he touched. His legacy of love, commitment to family, and indomitable spirit will remain forever in our hearts, inspiring us to be just as giving and loving as he was. Rest in peace, Alfred. Your memory will never fade.
Services will be private. Alfred will be laid to rest in Sainte Philippine Cemetery.
