Sarah Helen Calabaza, 87, of Green Bay and Chicago, Illinois, passed away on July 5, 2025 at Blue Jay Springs. She was born on April 2, 1938 to Harry and Cecelia (Loud Bear) Kakkak in Keshena, WI.
Sarah worked as a bank clerk for LaSalle National Bank in Chicago for 40 years. In 1957, she married Martin Calabaza. Sarah and Martin lived most of their lives in Chicago and she moved to Green Bay in 2023. Prior to her move, she was a member of St. Kateri Center of Chicago. Sarah was also a member of the Menominee Tribe of Wisconsin.
Sarah is survived by her twin daughters, Joan Calabaza and Jeanne Calabaza; grandchildren: Felicia Peters, Cheyanne King and Robert Hinmon; great-grandchildren: Derrick David, Robert Hinmon, Jr., and Brielle Hinmon; one brother: Frank Kakkak; special niece, Barbara Silas; and many other nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a sister, Sharon Kakkak; and brothers, Melvin and Patrick Kakkak
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to St. Kateri Center of Chicago in Sarah's name.
Interment will take place at a later date at West Branch (Our Lady of the Woods) Cemetery in Keshena, WI .
