Allen Coy Branch Jr, 87, of Sumner, Texas, passed away peacefully on August 5, 2025. A memorial will be held at Fry-Gibbs Funeral Home on Thursday, August 14, 2025, at 3:00 PM.

Allen was born in Dothan, Alabama to Allen Coy Branch Sr and Ethel (Efurd) Branch. He is a graduate of Rehobeth High School. While in high school in Dothan, Alabama, Allen met his high school sweetheart, Geri Branch. The two were wed on June 29, 1956. The couple have 3 children together and moved to Texas with their family in 1965. They have lived in Sumner, TX for 40 years.

He worked as a diesel mechanic, and was later promoted to shop superintendent during a span of almost 38 years. After retirement, in 1993, he worked at Graham International part-time. He enjoyed gardening, football, riding horses, camping, and spending time with his family. Allen never met a stranger and had the heart of a servant. He was loved by everyone who knew him.

Allen served on the Lamar Electric Co-Op Board of Directors as a board member, and served several years as President. He was passionate about doing what was right and ethical for the citizens of Lamar County.

Allen is survived by his daughter, Janice Ellis, and Lana Fisher and husband George Fisher; daughter-in-law, Linda Branch; grandchildren, Christie Skidmore and husband Ryan Skidmore, Katie Branch, and Jamie Ellis; his two great grandchildren, Nicholas and Natalie Skidmore; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Allen Coy Branch Sr and Ethel (Efurd) Branch; his wife, Geri Branch; and his son, Kelvin Branch.
