Alva Jo Ann Nation Hawkins, 89, widow of Douglas "Doug" McIlwain Hawkins. Died at her residence Sunday July 13, 2025.
She was born in Anderson County; she was the daughter of the late Hoke B. and Delree Flemming Nation. She was of the Baptist Faith.
She is survived by a daughter, Lana Jo Surface, and granddaughter, Jodie Ann Surface.
She was preceded in death by sons Michael Jordan and Timothy Orval Jordan; a brother Travis "Rock" Nation and a sister Mary Hanks.
The family will hold a private graveside service with daughter and granddaughter speaking.
In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to The Cancer Society.
Cox Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
