Frederick Eugene "Fred" Diggs, 53, passed away unexpectedly on September 4, 2025, while doing what he did best, working hard. He was born in Virginia Beach on September 28, 1971 and was the beloved son of the late Marvin and Clara Diggs.

Affectionately known to many as "Diggs," he was educated in the Virginia Beach Public School system and was a proud graduate of Green Run High School class of 1989. He went on to dedicate himself to his career as a member of the International Longshoreman's Association, Local 1248, where his strong work ethic was deeply valued.

Fred found true joy in the simple pleasures of life, like spending time with his family and friends, sharing laughter, and creating memories. He had a passion for sports, cheering faithfully for the San Antonio Spurs and the Buffalo Bills. He also enjoyed gaming, especially NBA 2K, and he enjoys all sports.

Fred was known for his easygoing spirit and gift of conversation. He had a way of connecting with everyone he met and never hesitated to lend a helping hand. Calm, cool, and collected, he truly enjoyed being surrounded by people and brought comfort and joy to those around him.

Fred was predeceased by his parents, Marvin and Clara Diggs; and Aaron Collins.

He leaves to cherish his memories his wife Diana L. Diggs; children, Diamond E. Boykin, Jordan R. Diggs, Iyanna N. Turner; siblings, Russell Diggs, Iris Thomas, Nadine Diggs; nieces, Marquita Diggs, Brittany Diggs, Naja Ashburn; special brothers, Reginald Cooper (Kelly), Toye Murphy, Khari Boyd (Tiffany), Leon Williams, Jr. (Cheryl), Roderick Cooper, Theron Blount (Lenice), Johnnie Skinner (Laquan); and a host of other relatives and friends that will miss him dearly.
