Amethyst “Ami” Daumer, 41, of South Bend, Indiana, passed away unexpectedly at home of natural causes on Thursday, July 10, 2025.
She was born on July 19, 1983, in Crown Point, Indiana to Bobbi Zee. Ami was known for her creativity, kindness, and the love she poured into everything she made. A dedicated crafter, she especially enjoyed diamond painting and cross-stitching. Every Christmas, her family and friends looked forward to the thoughtful handmade gifts she created with care and love. Crafting wasn’t just a hobby for Ami, it was her way of showing her love.
She loved animals and cared for many cats and dogs over the years, always making sure they felt at home and loved. In her quiet moments, she could often be found reading books from a wide variety of genres, always eager to get lost in a good story.
Ami married Joshua Daumer on May 1, 2009, in Knox, Indiana. She is survived by Joshua; her son, Graysen Daumer; and mother, Bobbi Zee. She is also survived by her brothers: Robert Eberhardt, Timothy Eberhardt, Randall Baker, and Daniel Zee, along with many loving nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, July 27, 2025 from 1:00 to 3:00 at the Lexington Event Center in Elkhart, IN.
