Amy Elizabeth Anderson, 72, of Cumberland, passed away unexpectedly on March 25.
Amy was born to Gaylord and Sharon Clark in Geneva, IL on January 30, 1953. Amy was the eldest of five children. She adored her younger siblings, Kathy, Molly, Abby and Joe Clark. The Clark family moved to Cumberland, WI in 1964 where Amy graduated from high school in 1971.
On September 2, 1972, Amy married her high school sweetheart, David Anderson. They started their life together, living in St. Paul, MN where they welcomed two sons, Jamie and Matthew. In 1977 they moved back to the Anderson family farm in Cumberland and completed their family circle with their daughter, Amanda. Amy worked many years for Jennie-O Turkey Store as a secretary for the engineering department where she later retired.
Amy loved traveling over the years, whether it was riding motorcycle across the country with David, or bringing the kids out west to explore various national parks. She enjoyed many trips to Mexico with Amanda and girlfriends. After retirement Amy and David began spending winters in South Padre Island. They created a circle of friends in Texas that were a profoundly special part of their lives. Amy loved sitting on the patio drinking coffee and gazing at the Gulf of Mexico. They spent their days playing cards and cribbage, throwing bags, golfing and laughing all the way. Although she had the ability to remain laid back and have fun, she had a competitive nature and could be quite feisty at times when it came to playing cards and golf. Amy was a fun-loving spirit who brought laughter wherever she went.
Amy developed a love for golfing later in life. She and David spent a significant amount of time at the Cumberland Golf Course every summer. They built a community of friends there - they were fortunate to have circles of friends wherever they went. She played golf in multiple leagues and played in many tournaments. One of her greatest joys was sometimes placing better in tournaments than David or her son Jamie. There were annual girls' golf trips - a highlight for all of the ladies, including her two sisters-in-law Jean and Jeanne. In retirement years Amy also was very proud of her gardens. Amy loved life and always found her greatest pleasure in taking care of others. Most of all she loved her family.
She will be dearly missed by her husband, David; children, Jamie (Tamala) Anderson, Matthew Anderson, and Amanda (Casey) DeLawyer; grandchildren, Jordyn, Alleah, and Lexi Anderson and Madilyn, Jack, and Kayden DeLawyer; siblings, Joe (Sue) Clark and Abby (John Flesch); sisters in law, Marie Rossa, Joyce (Claire) Anderson, Jean (Dave) Solheim, and Kay (Colette) Anderson; brother in law, Glen (Jeanne) Anderson; and lifelong friend, Edna Hove; along with many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Meeting Amy in Heaven are her parents, Gaylord and Sharon Clark; sisters, Kathy and Molly Clark; nephews, Kelby Ibach and Jonathan Flesch; sisters in law, Marlene Capra and Karen Hassler; parents in law, Clarence and Agnes Anderson; and her beautiful granddaughter, who she missed so dearly, Emma Anderson.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, March 31st, 2025 at Hope Community Church of Cumberland with Pastor Paul Green officiating. A luncheon will follow the service. Interment Lakeside Cemetery, Cumberland. Pallbearers are the grandkids - Jordyn, Alleah, and Lexi Anderson, and Madilyn, Jack, and Kayden DeLawyer.
A visitation will be held from 2 PM - 6 PM on Sunday, March 30th, 2025 at Skinner Funeral Home in Cumberland, and one hour prior to the service at church.
