Angela Serratelli Obituary

Angela R. Serratelli, 98, of Parlin, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 10, 2025, at JFK Medical Center in Edison.
Angela was born on August 2, 1926, in Essex County, NJ, and was raised in Newark, where she lived for many years before eventually settling in Edison and later Parlin. She was the proud owner and operator of Genrose Beauty Shop in Metuchen, where she worked for many years, helping others look and feel their best. A talented hairdresser, Angela loved her craft and took great joy in serving her community.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Joseph D. Serratelli, in 1986. Angela was a loving sister to Louise Calabrese, Dominick Mauro, Carmine Mauro, and Rocco Mauro, and sister-in-law to Samuel, Delores, and Joan.
Angela is survived by her sons, Joseph A. Serratelli of Parlin and Robert Serratelli and his wife Carol of Ewing. She was a devoted grandmother to Joseph R. Serratelli and his wife Alissa, Stephanie Serratelli, Robbie Serratelli and his wife Tiffany, and Lauren Forrest and her husband Joe. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Elizabeth Mauro. She was also a cherished great-grandmother to seven: Scarlet, Luciana, Thea, Remi, Harlin, Lorenzo, and Maverick.
Angela will be remembered for her love of family and friends, her sharp sense of humor, and her adventurous spirit. A devoted woman of faith, she was rarely without her rosary in hand and found comfort and strength through prayer. She enjoyed reading, playing Words with Friends, and especially her trips to Atlantic City, where she delighted in playing the slot machines.
The visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 16, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Costello-Runyon Funeral Home, 568 Middlesex Ave., Metuchen. A funeral service will take place at the funeral home on Thursday, July 17, 2025, at 10:00 AM. Entombment will follow at Hollywood Memorial Park in Union.
