Angelita Alcorta Cisneros

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Mrs. Angelita Alcorta Cisneros, who left this world peacefully on July 9, 2025, at the age of 94. Born on August 3, 1930, in Laredo, Texas, Angelita spent her life as a devoted homemaker and an unwavering pillar of strength for her family.
A beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, she exemplified unconditional love and dedication. With a spirit that inspired those around her, Angelita was known for her resourcefulness and her profound belief in the power of education. She cherished every opportunity to uplift her family and instilled in them the importance of learning, often reminding them that the word "can't" had no place in their lives.
A devout Catholic, Angelita found great solace and joy in her faith. She embraced her hobbies with enthusiasm, particularly enjoying games of loteria and bingo, which brought laughter and camaraderie into her home. Her love for plants was evident in the vibrant garden she cultivated, a testament to her nurturing nature and her appreciation for life’s simple pleasures.
Angelita's warmth and resilience will be fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her legacy will live on through her family and the countless lives she touched, reminding us all of the power of kindness and unwavering support.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Avelino Cisneros; her parents, Nazario and Eduarda Alcorta; siblings, Florentina Villa, Elena Juarez, Francisco Alcorta, Margarito Alcorta, Consuelo Barrera, and her great-granddaughter, Angelita Pettit.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Avelino (Diana) Cisneros, Jr., Esperanza (Manuel) Solis, Gloria (Pedro) Perez, Maria (Jesus) Huerta, Guadalupe (Debbie) Cisneros, Jose (Norma) Cisneros, Blasita (Delfino Jr.) Sarmiento, Irma (Angel) Sarmiento; 23 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great-grandchildren; among numerous other loving relatives and friends.
The family will be receiving condolences on Monday, July 14, 2025, from 5pm to 9pm at Joe Jackson Heights Funeral Chapel & Cremation Services, 719 Loring at Cortez.; where a Vigil for the Deceased and Rosary will commence at 7 p.m.
Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday morning, July 15, 2025 departing at 9:30 a.m. from Joe Jackson Heights Funeral Chapels to San Vicente de Paul Catholic Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m.
Rite of Committal and Interment will follow at the family plot of the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be: Ricardo Perez, Jesus Huerta, Jr., Felix Sarmiento, Orlando Sarmiento, Pedro Juan Perez, Jr., Rodolfo Perez, Anthony Solis, and Daniel Cisneros.
Honorary Pallbearers are: Martin Cisneros, Alexander Solis, Avelino Cisneros, Jr., Jose Cisneros, Christian Cisneros, and Guadalupe Cisneros.
