Obituary for Anita L. Riggs
Anita L. Riggs, age 71 of Kenner, La. passed away on December 3, 2024, in Mobile, Al. where she and her husband William T (Tom) Riggs have resided for the past 22 years. There will be no formal visitation or services held. Her wishes were to be cremated and buried in her husband's family plot in Washington, Pa.
Anita was born in Metairie, La. to Carolyn Alice Lillie and Michell Gonzalez on October 25, 1953. She went to school at Grace King High School in Metairie, La. Over the years, Anita worked in several positions for Sea Land Corporation, ending up as the Special Commodities Manager at the port of New Orleans, La. location. She was chosen "Miss Maritime" in 1981. She married William T. (Tom) Riggs on October 24, 1981, in Washington, Pa.
Anita is preceded in death by her brothers, Johnny and Mitchell. Anita is survived by her spouse Tom, her brother Glenn, her sister Carol, Carol's son Edward and Carol's Grandson Brandon, who live in the Gulf Coast area.
