HALTOM CITY - Anita Florine Rogers, 90, passed away on Friday, November 10, 2023.

Anita was born on September 3, 1933, in Newcastle, Texas. She spent her childhood, and teenage years in Newcastle, where she attended school and graduated with honors. She eventually moved to Fort Worth, Texas, where she lived with her aunt. Anita considered attending Southwestern Assemblies of God College; however, she met and married the love of her life, Everett Rogers, and became an amazing homemaker. Anita and Everett were married just short of 54 years at the time of Everett's death in 2007.
She was a loving wife, mother, and homemaker. She loved to sew, read, and spend time with family. Anita worked at Edison's during the Christmas season to buy Christmas for her family. Later she held clerical positions to help with household expenses when Everett became, ill and unable to work. After Everett's death in 2007, she served as church secretary (a volunteer position) until she was no longer able to drive.
Anita, experienced a close relationship with Jesus Christ at an early age. He was more than her Heavenly Father. He was her friend, companion, and ever-present help! All of her family, children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren witnessed her unwavering faith in her Savior, Christ Jesus. She always looked to Him for guidance, regardless of the situation. She was always a witness for Jesus, even in the nursing facility where she was a resident.
Anita was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Everett Rogers; son-in-law, Bobby Thomas; and her brother, Herman Byrd.
She is survived by her loving daughters, Trena Thomas, and Sheri Muska and husband, Dale; grandchildren, Thomas Johnson, Kelli Neely, Brandon Rogers, Kristen Buchman, and Derrick Pittinger; 7 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; and her siblings, Sandra Smith, Joyce Sweeny, Raymond Blankenship, and Janis Atchley.
