Virginia Ann Genlot, 88, of Westfield, passed away on March 8, 2025, at Fellowship Village, in Basking Ridge, NJ. Known by all as Ann Genlot, Ann was born on September 12, 1936, in De Kalb, Gilmer County, West Virginia, to the late Herbert J. and Dessie (Cather) Patterson. Ann was an early childhood educator and also a crossing guard for the Town of Westfield, NJ. A member of the DAR (Daughters of the American Revolution), she was active as a leader with the Girl Scouts.
Ann was preceded in death by her beloved husband Joseph, her dear grandson: Brandon Genlot, brother: Robert Patterson, and sister: Frances Greve, who died just 2 weeks after Ann's passing. She is survived by daughter: Jennifer Brower, and husband John, of Middletown, NJ, son: Jeffrey Genlot and wife Donna of Westfield, and grandchildren: James, Daniel, Kayla, and great grandson: Benjamin.
Ann’s visitation will be from 4:00-8:00PM Thursday April 24, 2025, at Gray Funeral Home, 318 E. Broad St., Westfield, where a prayer service will begin at 6PM Thursday.
