Anna Gardner Applegate, Age 71, of Vanceburg, Kentucky passed away Thursday July 10, 2025 with her family by her side at the Southern Ohio Hospice Center in Portsmouth, Ohio.
Anna was born in Portsmouth, Ohio November 13, 1953 to the late Alan G. and Jane Gormely Roe. Anna loved to read novels. Anna was of the Christian faith. Most of all she loved her family.
Left to cherish her memories is her husband of 28 years Gene Applegate of Vanceburg, Kentucky.
One daughter- Michelle Roe and her fiancé Ricky Monroe of South Portsmouth, Kentucky.
Brother- Jack Roe of Morehead, Kentucky.
Grandchildren- Christopher Alan Caldwell II, and Timothy Andrew (Bella) Caldwell. One great-grandson- Theodore Caldwell.
Sisters-in law- Mary Alice Clark, Rosemary Applegate, Pat Mensch. brothers-in-law- Darrell (Bud) Applegate and Donald Thoroughman along with several nieces and nephews who also will mourn her passing.
A special sister-in-law- Nellie Bloomfield and her niece Cindy (Steve) Butler.
Preceded her in death beside her parents was one sister- Patty Roe, brothers- John Roe, Alan Roe, and Paul Roe.
Step-mother-Norma Roe who raised her.
Visitation will be Monday July 14, 2025 from 9:00 am till 11:00 am at the Gaydos Funeral home 159 2nd street Vanceburg, Kentucky 41179.
Funeral services will be Monday July 14, 2025 at 11:00 am at the funeral home with Brother Tony Corns officiating. Burial will follow in the Flinders Cemetery on Quicks Run, Kentucky.
Pallbearers will be Christopher Alan Caldwell II, Timothy Andrew Caldwell, and Ricky Monroe, Jack Bond, and Billy Bond.
