Anne C. Edgar 76 of Shelbyville, Kentucky passed away peacefully in her home, surrounded by family on Saturday May 31, 2025 in Shelbyville.
Anne's survivors include two daughters, Jennifer Martin of Dahlonega, Georgia, and Pattie Salazar (Jorge) of Waleska, Georgia; her grandchildren, Courtney, Kyle, Cassidy, Jacob, Kenzie, and Wilson; numerous great-grandchildren; her siblings, James Wilson (Margueritte) of Athens, Georgia, and Susan Glover of Shelbyville, Kentucky; and a nephew, Ryan Mailhot.
Anne lived her life as a selfless servant. From the early years loving her little sister Susan as her own to the loves of her life- the more than 25 grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great nieces and nephews. Her love exceeded traditional family lines including married children as her own, Jessica, Whitney, Ashley, Timmy, and Bryan, children and family were a constant and driving force for Anne. Forever the professional people pleaser, Anne was the one you could count as to make sure any and all were content and included.
Anne achieved her BA in nursing while raising her 2 girls, sacrificing her down time for education. She devoted her career of 32 years as a RN in pediatric oncology with CHOA (Children's Healthcare of Atlanta) in various roles. During this time Anne was also consistently active with her volunteer work with Lighthouse Ministries and Camp Sunshine, both serving children and their families during their diagnosis ensuring the family was treated normally and lovingly as a unit during illness.
An active softball player, chef, avid reader and gardener (minus the bugs and weeds) Anne enjoyed her free time living her life with a flare for simplicity. The beach, large family get-togethers and traveling made her happy. Anne loved a good song, flowers and sitting quietly focused on her word searches with a cup of hot tea. Always up for a great card game, Anne had a competitive spirit, but her heart would ensure the prize was gifted to loved ones.
In recent years Anne's service continued with the local Moose Lodge 1715. The mission of giving back to the community locally and nationally was important to her, with emphasis on Mooseheart and Moosehaven.
The family would like to express our appreciation to Hosparus of Louisville for the last months of comfort. Special thanks to her team, Debbie, Jackie, Jodi and Chelsea.
Anne was preceded in death by her parents, James and Anne Wilson and a brother-in-law, Carlos R. Glover.
A celebration of Anne's life will be from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Saturday June 21, 2025 at the Moose Lodge # 1715. A Moose Ceremony will be held at 4:00 p.m., 2696 Frankfort Road Shelbyville, Kentucky 40065.
Expressions of Sympathy: Moose Lodge # 1715 (Attn: Traci Seaman) Frankfort Road Shelbyville, KY 40065 or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital 501 St. Jude’s Place Memphis, Tennessee 38105.
