Anthony Cusanelli Obituary

Anthony Cusanelli, of Manalapan, New Jersey, passed away at home on July 30, 2025. He was 60 years old. Born and raised in Bensonhurst, Brooklyn, Anthony was a proud graduate of Nazareth High School and went on to attend Brooklyn College. It was in Brooklyn that he met and married the love of his life, Florence. Together, they began their family on Staten Island before settling in Manalapan in 1996, where they built a life full of love, laughter, and cherished memories. Anthony worked as a Superintendent for the New York City Transit Authority for 32 years, a job he truly loved and took great pride in. Known for his dedication, leadership, and work ethic, he was a respected figure among his colleagues and friends. He reitred in 2020. Outside of work, Anthony had a wide range of passions. A longtime member of the Central Jersey Rifle and Pistol Club in Jackson, he enjoyed the sport of shooting and the camaraderie that came with it. A true enthusiast, he found peace in his garage, often working with his hands while listening to the Beatles. He was an avid stargazer, spending many nights with his telescope, and had a sharp eye for photography. A loyal New York Rangers fan, Anthony cheered for his team with heart and passion. Anthony was predeceased by his parents, Pierino and Maria, and by his brother Nicholas. Anthonys warm spirit, generous heart, and easy smile will be remembered by his beloved wife Florence, his loving children, Gabrielle Cardello and her husband James, Maria Thibault and her husband Dylan, and Anthony Cusanelli and his fiance Brittany, by his grandson James, and his soon to be born grandchild, by his faithful dog Rocco, and many extended family members and friends who were touched by his kindness and strength. The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM on Wednesday, August 6, 2025, at Michael Hegarty & John Vincent Scalia Home For Funerals and Cremation Service, 3377 US Highway 9, Old Bridge, New Jersey. A mass of Christian burial will take place on Thursday, August 7, 2025, at 11:00 AM at St. Gabriels Roman Catholic Church 100 N Main Street, Marlboro, New Jersey.
