I had the absolute pleasure of meeting Gay at FCC Coleman Pen 2 (the duece). I used always tell him he had the coolest swag as he would enter the belly of beast as we called it. He always had a positive attitude and good vibes. During my last interaction with Gay we had a good conversation about about life. We both spoke about family, life and retirement. We also had a nice talk which included God and this world. I know that he is ever present with the heavenly Father. His wings were properly prepared here on earth. To the family may you find comfort in knowing God has him in his bosom. Gay was an awesome person and I am blessed to have known him. He will never be forgotten. Rest in heaven Gay.

Gay,
You were most certainly one of the best of us. I couldn't have been more grateful to have spent all the time we did in east corridor having coffee, talking shop, talking life, talking football, etc. Our conversations toward the end shine in a new light as we discussed your future. I can't imagine the thoughts and feelings you had all the while maintaining your composure and dignity while you kept things close to the vest. Truly a representation of your character as you welcomed and indulged those conversations. It hurts my heart knowing you knew full well that your time was limited. You will forever be a part of my story and I can't thank you enough for the laughter, comradery, and levity you brought everyday for me and others in such a challenging environment. You mattered. Alot. My thoughts and prayers are with your family as I can only imagine the immense loss they are feeling. I'm sure they would agree that the world is better off for having you in it. Safe travels my friend and enjoy the love, blessings and peace I'm certain God will afford you on the other side.

Wow, I´m sorry to hear this saddening news from our BOP Family. Darron and I worked together at FCC Coleman. We didn´t know each other until we introduced ourselves and realized we were from Jackson County. Also we have known the same person. His wife Rose and I were classmates at MHS. Darron would say it´s a small world . We must continue to look out for each other. Rose and family be encouraged and trust God. He will be your comforter in times of sorrow. With deepest sympathy!

May you rest in the arms of the Lord. I will never forget almost every day for 15 years we drank coffee and talked SEC football and I'll never forget your big smile and laughter. I'm honored to have worked with you but more specifically and importantly you were my dear friend and brother. I'll miss you and remember you forever. Go rest high on that mountain. War Eagle my dear friend!!
