With deep sorrow and eternal love, we celebrate the life of Anthony "Tony" Jackson, who passed away on June 24, 2025, at the age of 74. Born on April 7, 1951, to the loving union of the late Henry Jackson Sr. and Canzady Coleman Jackson, Tony was a native of Crown Point, Louisiana, and a longtime resident of Marrero.
Tony was a pillar of warmth, generosity, and community spirit. After completing the 11th grade, he entered the workforce with determination and pride, dedicating ten years of service to Matrana's Produce before following his passion for food and fellowship full time. As the founder and proprietor of Jackson's Catering, he became well known for his legendary seafood boils-gatherings that united people with unforgettable flavors and joyful memories.
He was a proud former member of Crescent City Elks Lodge #299 and Masons DeGruy Lodge No. 7, where he found brotherhood, service, and deep community engagement.
Tony was a beloved husband to Alice Jackson; a devoted stepfather to Robert Paul Harris, William Harris, Shannon Ausbrook, Danielle Boudreaux, Yuri Thompson, and Kimball Baker; and a cherished father figure to many-offering guidance, compassion, and open-hearted care to everyone around him. A gifted cook and vibrant socialite, Tony poured love into every celebration he touched. No gathering was ever too big, no plate ever too empty.
He is survived by his loving wife, Alice Jackson; his stepchildren, Robert Paul Harris, William Harris, Shannon Ausbrook, Danielle Boudreaux, Yuri Thompson, and Kimball Baker; his devoted siblings, Sylvia Brown, Margaret (Jeffrey) Holmes, and Gregory (Sonya) Jackson; his sister-in-law, Angielena Jackson; his aunt, Marion Jackson; his uncle, Lloyd (Angelia) Jackson; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members, and cherished friends whose lives were brightened by his presence.
Tony was preceded in death by his parents, Canzady Coleman Jackson and Henry Jackson Sr.; his brothers, Henry "Pop Pooh" Jackson Jr. and Lionel Jackson; his grandmothers, Ella Jackson and Lilly Curtis; his grandfathers, Lawrence Jackson Jr. and Lemuel Coleman; his aunt, Alberta Chapman; his great-aunt, Ardella Jackson; his sister-in-love, Lorraine Petty; and his best friend, Emmanuel Starbough.
Tony's legacy lives on in the love he gave, the meals he shared, and the countless lives he touched. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered-always.
