Antje DeVries Fullmer (Anneke), embarked on her latest adventure July 8, 2025. Her closest loved ones called her Mommy, Mookie, Oma, Ontje cup of poncha, Big baby, Mooka Dootcha, Grandma, and Onnie-Wonnie Antje, born on May 4, 1940, in Harlingen, Netherlands, to Jacob and Loukjen DeVries. She was the 2nd child of seven: Maryke Hoekstra, Antje Fullmer, Jenette Anderson, Henny Kroeger, Jacob DeVries, Leo DeVries and Jon DeVries. During her early 20's, Antje worked as a pharmacy technician.
Antje was first introduced to Elder Fullmer, who would later become her husband, while he was serving an LDS mission in Holland. After completing his mission, Antje left her homeland and came to the USA. She married George Fullmer, the "love of her life," on May 8, 1964, in the Logan, Utah temple. Shortly after the newlyweds moved to Fort Ord, California, where George was stationed in the Army. Antje was new to the American culture and spoke no English, but she was happy being married to "the man of her dreams."
Antje soon became a loving mother and dedicated homemaker. Her children were her greatest joy in life. Early hobbies included sewing, crocheting, reading, dining out, and traveling, especially by cruising. She was a self-proclaimed 'cruiseaholic." Later hobbies gave way to the colorful chaos of Hobby Lobby and the aromatic allure of Bath and Body stores. These were her "happy places," and everyone knew it.
Antje's faith was a pillar of her life. She held many positions in the LDS church. She was most passionate about the many years she worked in the LDS Name Extraction. This calling brought her much joy and unique meaning to her life. She enjoyed temple work, being of service to others, and filled a couple's mission with her late husband, at Maple Springs. Antje was a loving and spirited soul who brought a unique light into the lives of those fortunate to know her.
Antje is survived by her children: Laura Fullmer (Cathy Connell), Christine Nelson (Randy Nelson), Scott Fullmer, and Jack Fullmer (Laura B. Fullmer).
There will be a viewing for Antje on Friday, July 18, 2025, at 10:00am MDT at Myers Mortuary in Brigham City, Utah. The "Celebration" service will follow at 11:00am MDT at the same location.
There will NOT be luncheon provided after the service, whereas Antje's children have chosen to continue their mother's celebration in a private manner.
