KNICKERBOCKER, Arlene – of Davison, MI, age 84, passed away on Friday, December 20, 2024. A Funeral Service will be held at 11 AM Saturday, December 28, 2024 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison, MI 48423; Pastor Al Yerke officiating. Interment will take place following the service in Flint Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive visitors 5-7 PM on Friday, December 27, 2024 and one hour prior to the service on Saturday, beginning at 10 AM, at Allen Funeral Home.
Arlene was born in Flint, MIchigan. Her parents moved to Petoskey, MI, where they purchased and ran a restaurant. She learned to be a diligent and hard worker there. After high school, she moved back to Flint, attended a business school, and married Jerry in 1959. They raised five children together. Arlene had many interests and enjoyed developing new skills. She became a writer, editor, teacher, and was active in toastmasters. She authored four books and wrote sunday school curricula and articles for mission organizations. In all of her activities, she developed many close relationships and was greatly appreciated as a kind and caring friend.
Arlene is survived by her husband, Jerry Knickerbocker; children: Kevin (Anne) Knickerbocker, Julie (Francisco) Cleaves, Timothy (Shelley) Knickerbocker, Katrina (Chuck) Swadling, and Michael (Michelle) Knickerbocker; nine grandchildren; five great grandchildren; many other loving family members and friends. She was preceded in death by both parents; sister, Lorraine White; granddaughter, Katherine Morrow.
