Art was a kind and generous soul always there for his family. If there were two things Art was known for it was his passion for fishing and his undeniable love for his six nieces and nephews Nick, Danny, Lily, Joey, Alec, and Emma. It was the simple pleasures in life that brought Art the greatest joy.
He was the cherished son of Arthur and Patricia Sternberg of Des Plaines and the loving brother of Jennifer (Jacob) Riebock. He is proceeded in death by his grandparents, Harold and Marilyn Sternberg, his grandmother Mary Jayne McCarthy, and his great grandmother, Katherine King along with many aunts and uncles.
Art dedicated 18 years of his life working at Peoples Gas in Chicago. He truly loved his job but more than that were the lifelong friendship he formed with so many people over the years.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks for donations to be made to help with the memorial costs.
A memorial gathering of family and friends will be held from 4pm to 8pm on July 15th, 2025 at Matz Funeral Home, 410 E Rand Rd, Mount Prospect, IL 60056.
