Funeral Service for Mr. Audie Orlanda Mason, 68, of Alexander City, will be Thursday, July 17, 2025 at 11:00 am at the Chapel of Radney Funeral Home. Baron Gregg will officiate. Burial will follow at Hillview Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 16, 2025 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Radney Funeral Home.
Mr. Mason passed away on Friday, July 11, 2025 at his home. He was born on August 13, 1956 in Alexander City, Alabama to Victor Orlanda Mason and Margaret Sara Couch Mason. Audie served his country in the United States Army where, while assigned to the 101st Airborne Division in Fort Campbell he was involved in a rotation to Germany and deployed to Vietnam. After returning home, Audie continued to serve his community as a Policeman for the Alexander City, Dadeville, and Tallassee communities. He was an avid Alabama Football fan, and enjoyed cheering on his Crimson Tide. Audie also loved watching NASCAR races. He was a skilled portrait painter, as well as an avid collector. Audie was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He also shared a special bond with his sweet dog, Ladybug.
He is survived by his wife, Linda Mason of Alexander City; daughter, Audra Strickland of Wetumpka; sons, Travis Johnston (Mary) of Clarksville, TN and Victor Alex Mason (fiancé, Stacie Scott) of Maryville, TN; grandchildren, Landon Moon, Karli Smith, Sophia Johnston, and Oliver Johnston; great-grandchildren, Olivia Smith, Bryli Smith, and Stella Kate Smith; brother, Charles Mason; step-son, Michael Barrett (Amber); step-grandchildren, Josh Peppers and John Peppers; sister-in-law, Anita Mason; special nephews, Aaron Lyndsley (Kaitlyn) and Jeremy Mason (Cassandra).
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Jason Mason.
