Barbara Barford Obituary

Barbara Ann Barford, 83, passed away on June 26, 2025, in Rahway, NJ. Born on June 12, 1942, in Elizabeth, NJ, Barbara spent her formative years in Carteret before settling in Rahway. She devoted over 35 years to Rahway Savings Institution (RSI Bank), where she cherished the camaraderie with coworkers and the opportunity to connect with the community. Barbara's career spanned several local businesses, from Quinn & Boden Publishing Company to Jan's Fashion Outlet, before finding her long-term place at RSI Bank. Outside of work, she was a parishioner at St. John the Apostle in Clark, NJ. A lover of the outdoors, Barbara enjoyed antique flea marketing, cars, swimming, crafting, fishing, crabbing, and gardening. She had a special fondness for her dogs and traveling, experiences that brought her great joy throughout her life. Barbara is survived by her children, Valerie Cutinello and Jeffrey Charles Barford; her grandchildren, Connor and Shannon Cutinello; and her sister, Eleanor Kavanagh of Freehold, NJ. She also leaves behind her beloved cousins, nieces, and nephews, Michele, Jaquelin, Michael, and John. She was preceded in death by her parents, Josephine and Mathias Reakus; brother, Michael Reakus; and sister, Marion Smeal.
