Angier, NC: Ms. Barbara Surles Blackburn, age 78, passed away on Saturday, May 24, 2025 at Pinelake, in Carthage, NC, surrounded by her loving family. Graveside Funeral Services will be 2:00PM-Friday, May 30, 2025 at Providence Presbyterian Church Cemetery 14664 NC HWY 210, Angier, NC 27501. Officiating will be Mr. Mike Warren.
Ms. Blackburn was born on January 28, 1947 in Johnston County, NC, to the late John Gardner and Beatrice Ennis Surles. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Jerry Dean Surles. Ms. Blackburn was a homemaker, and enjoyed listening to Gospel Music and making friends. She was a member of Friendly Chapel Church, Angier, NC.
Survivors include her daughter, Tara Haithcock; sister, Dolores S. Priest and husband, Johnny; sister-in-law, Shirley M. Surles; nieces, Amy Sawyer, Deana Warren (Mike), and Dawn Evans (Bobby); nephew, Jeff Parker (D'Andra); two grandchildren; great-niece, Alexa Gentry, and great-nephew, Austin Byrd;
The family will receive friends following the graveside service.
The family appreciates your thoughts and prayers.
