Barbara Ann Dahl was born on July 18, 1938, to Arthur and Serena Holmes in Tyler, Minnesota. She was raised and received her education through the ninth grade. Following her schooling, she was united in marriage to Jerome "Jerry" Dahl on June 19, 1953 in the Lutheran Church in Flandreau, South Dakota. They made their home in Tyler. Barb worked various jobs and raised her family that included three children. Life was full of its ups and downs, but overall, Barb was very blessed throughout her life.
Barb was a member of Danebod Lutheran Church in Tyler and recently furthered her faith through television ministry. She was baptized in the Lutheran faith in the 1950s on the family farm northwest of town. She enjoyed traveling, fishing, camping, and hunting during her younger years. In later years she enjoyed putting puzzles together, and she could not wait for Thursdays to come when she would get her hair done. She would spend time at the cemetery taking care of all the family plots in the surrounding towns; it was a passion of hers. Besides working on the plots she also loved working in her yard and any neighbors that would let her pull their weeds. Her neighbor family, the Grajeda family, were very special to her. Since April 3, Barb met a special lady at Avera Sunrise Nursing Home, named Donna Myers. Barb and Donna made a bond with each other, she made Barb feel happy and less lonely. Family meant everything to Barb.
She is lovingly remembered by her grandchildren, Tara, Ashley, Britany, Cassandra, Mikey, Josh, Jennifer and Melissa; great-grandchildren, Kobe, Dakota, Layla, Parker, Grace, Asher, Brayden, Dalton, Mason, Rylee, Aubree, Evan and Hannah; great-great-grandchildren, Kensley and Lennon; daughters-in-law, Pam and Diane Dahl; grandson-in-law, Chad (Jackie) Williams.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerome; sons, Jerry, Michael, Bruce; granddaughter, Jessica Williams; two great-grandchildren, Levi and Christian Muecke; step-daughter, Susan Rutledge; parents, Arthur and Serena Holmes; brother, Ellsworth; and sisters, Marilyn Robertson and Grace Dahlen.
