Barbara Dawson, 84, of Elk Garden, passed away at her home on June 30, 2025. Born on March 14, 1941, in Kitzmiller, she was the daughter of the late Alta Solomon.
Barbara attended the Elk Garden School and spent most of her life as a homemaker. She enjoyed tending to her garden in the summertime, and loved reading and sewing.
She is survived by her children, Jerry Dawson of Elk Garden, Earl Dawson and wife Tina of Kitzmiller, and Russell Dawson of Elk Garden; grandchildren, Amanda Shears, Barbara Dawson, Tracey Michaels and husband Casey, Charles Birchland and partner Sherry Smith, Chanda Dawson, Skylar Dawson, Kaitlyn Dawson and partner Blain Sisler; great grandchildren, McKinleigh Tingler, Mark Michaels, Zane Michaels, Debra Martin, James Martin, Julie Martin, Bentley Birchland, Noah Birchland, Quinn Dawson, Everly Sisler, Kadence English, Kolton Dawson and Lennox Dawson; siblings, Joyce Simmons of Elk Garden, Sandra Moreland of Terra Alta, and Wallace Solomon of Erie, PA.
She was preceded in death by her children, Lynn Dawson, Charles Dawson Jr., and Amanda Dawson; a grandchild, Julie Birchland; and siblings, Ada Bishop, Velma Paugh, Doraine Moreland, Mark Solomon, Sherwood Solomon, and Judy Pace.
Friends will be received on Wednesday July 2, 2025, from 6 to 8 PM, at the Fredlock & Fenner Funeral Homes, P.A. - Kitzmiller Chapel, 710 Church Street, Kitzmiller. A funeral service will be held on Thursday July 3, 2025, at 11 AM in the funeral home with Pastor Josh Miller officiating. Interment will follow in the IOOF Cemetery.
