Barbara "Bobby" Jean Kirby, age 94 of Paris, Illinois passed away peacefully at 12:45 P.M. on Saturday, July 5, 2025 surrounded by her loving family. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great great grandmother.
Graveside service will be at 1:00 P.M. CST on Thursday, July 24, 2025 at Edgar Cemetery in Paris with Pastor Larry Spear officiating. Stewart and Carroll Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
Barbara was born on February 10, 1931 in Paris, Illinois to Henry and Nettie (Montz) Shanks. She married Roy Kirby Jr. on July 30, 1949 in Marshall, Illinois. He preceded her in death on January 27, 1989.
Barbara was a homemaker and attended the Nazarene church in Paris. Barbara's family was the most important thing in her life. She loved having family dinners with her family. She also enjoyed her collection of Betty Boop and angels.
She is survived by her children: Gary Kirby (Linda), Pam Long, her grandchildren: Lisa Greven (Gregg), Kim Custer (George), Brian Kirby; her great grandchildren: Alexis Pike (Garrett) and Allison Summers; her great great grandchildren: Andrew Pike and Ellie Mae Pike; her sister, Mary Elsberry; her sister-in-law, Janet Shanks and several nieces and nephews.
Barbara is preceded in death by her husband, her parents, her siblings: Michael Shanks, James Shanks, Betty Wilhoit, Helen Shanks, Maxine Crunkelton, Marie Shanks, Margaret Owen, Joann Drumm; and her son-in-law, David Long.
