Barbara I. Konradi, 68, of Storm Lake, Iowa, passed away in the early evening of July 9th, 2025, peacefully at home in her husband's arms after a long and courageous battle with a recurring illness.
Memorial Mass will take place Tuesday, July 15, 2025 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church. Burial will be in the St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be held Monday, July 14, 2025 from 5-7:00 p.m. with Vigil and Time of Sharing at 7:00 p.m. at the Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in STORM LAKE. The Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake is in charge of the arrangements.
Barbara was born to Wanda and Herb Andrews on August 13th, 1956. After graduating from Storm Lake High School, she pursued her passion for education by studying learning disabilities in special education at Northwest Missouri State University. She went on to earn her master's degree in special education from the University of South Dakota.
Barbara was a dedicated special education teacher who spent her career advocating for students with diverse needs. Her patience, compassion, and unwavering belief in every child's potential left a lasting impact on countless students and their families. Her classroom was a place of warmth, dignity, and empowerment-a true reflection of the care she carried in her heart.
She was also a loving and supportive mother who encouraged her daughters' independence, creativity, and adventures. Her love extended well beyond her home and classroom, touching friends, colleagues, and community members with quiet strength and boundless generosity.
Barbara had many passions-she was a talented dancer in her younger years and never lost her love for music and movement. She was also an avid reader who could often be found with a book in her hand, always curious and learning.
Even during her illness, she faced each day with strength, grace, and a sense of humor. She continued showing up for the people she loved in the quiet, consistent way that defined her life.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, Herb and Wanda Andrews; her brother, Richard Andrews; and her grandparents, Glen and Ruby Cass and William and Irene Andrews.
She is survived by her loving husband of 44 years, Randy Konradi; daughters, Paige Konradi and Tara Konradi and her husband Alexei Alvaraldo Carbajo, and their children: Nolan, Max, and Nora; brother, Dan (Kay) Andrews; sister-in-law, Jeanie (Bill) Eimers; brothers-in-law, Rick (Angie) Konradi and Tom (Lori) Konradi; and many extended family members, friends, former students, and neighbors who will miss her deeply.
She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.

My sympathy to Barbara's family and friends. May God comfort you.

I am Barbara's distant cousin in relationship and miles. She was junior bridesmaid in our wedding in 1965. I am sorry I have not seen her since then, but we are celebrating our 60th anniversary next month and I have been thinking of her. I am glad to read that she was such a loving person and sorry of the illness she suffered.
