Barbara Semancik, 75, of Elizabeth, NJ, passed away on June 29, 2025. A graveside service will be held at B'Nai Abraham Memorial Park, 2600 Route 22E, in Union on Wednesday, July 2nd at 11am.
Born in Brooklyn, the daughter of the Estelle (Cohen) and the late Stanley Selikson, Barbara was raised in Union and graduated from Union High School in 1967. In her earlier years, she worked as a dental assistant with several local dentists, including Dr. Kussick in Livingston. Barbara enjoyed the theater, reading novels and embroidery as well as different genres of music, in particular, George Michael and 50's and 60's music and all the old rock and roll venues. Her love of travel took her from New Zealand to the far reaches of the European continent.
Barbara was the beloved wife of 37 years to Stephen Semancik. She was the loving daughter of Estelle Selikson. She is also survived by her stepdaughters, Carolyn Snyder and her husband Timothy, and Linda Semancik and her partner Becke, her cherished step grandchildren, Kayla Lenzi and her husband Dom, and Ryan Allen, and her dear sister, Ronnie Amedeo.
