Barbara Clara Vitek was born December 15, 1940, at home in Lind Center, WI, to Matthew and Lonia (Handrich) Davis-Walter. During her childhood, Barbara lived in the Fremont area, Clarks Mill, and Menasha. She went to a one-room schoolhouse before attending Jefferson School and Trinity School, and she graduated from Menasha High School in 1959. After graduation, Barbara worked for AAL and later Wisconsin Tissue Mills, retiring from there in December 1995.

Together Barb and Rudy enjoyed bowling, golf, polka dancing, and traveling. They visited all 50 states, Europe, and Mexico, and took cruises in Alaska, Hawaii, and the Mexican Riviera. After retirement they wintered in Mesa, AZ from 1996-2014. Barbara also loved sewing and was an excellent cook.
She was preceded in death by her parents, stepfather Winfield “Bud” Walter, brother Victor Davis, sister-in-law Carol Davis, sister-in-law Eileen Vitek, and brother-in-law George Vitek.
