Barry Patterson Obituary

Barry Michael Patterson was born in Bay County, Florida on July 10, 1954, to Clyde and Lillian Cook Patterson. He passed away on February 27, 2025, at the age of 70.
Barry was a man of great humor who embraced life to the fullest. Raised in a large household, he began his education at Callaway Elementary before attending Everett and Rutherford High School. Over the years, he worked various jobs before embarking on a career in the oil industry, which took him to Morgan City, LA, Laurel, MI, and eventually Houston, TX.
An avid outdoorsman, Barry found joy in hunting, fishing, grilling, and traveling. He had a passion for riding his motorcycle, often taking spontaneous trips with his best friend and cousin, Randy Bruner. His love for barbecue led him to the Houston Livestock Show where he won the worldwide cookoff twice and competed alongside the Goodie Girls, even earning awards at the Rodeo's Barbecue Cook-off competitions.
Barry possessed extensive knowledge of construction and home renovation. He transformed his own family home and played a vital role in rebuilding and maintaining others, including his mother's, after Hurricane Michael devastated it. Following the loss of his beloved wife, Roxie, he returned to Callaway to care for his mother while continuing his passion for building.
Above all, Barry was a devoted husband, a caring son, and a dedicated father to Krystal Glass and Robin Tahiri. He was also a loving grandfather to Alec Glass. Alec and his grandfather shared a deep, unbreakable bond - they were soulmates. More than just a grandfather, he was a true father figure to Alec, always present and attentive.
He was proceeded in death by his Father and Mother Clyde and Lilian Patterson and his brothers, Andy and Gregory as well as his sister, Deborah Gillingham, one nephew Daniel and niece Alyssa.
Those left to cherish his memory are his brothers, Jay and Glenn; sister, Jeannie Fritz; daughters Krystal and Robin; grandson, Alec; nephews, Adam and Christopher; nieces, Jennifer and Heather. He also is survived by numerous great nieces and nephews, family and friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held 2:00 pm Monday, March 10, 2025, at Heritage Funeral Home, Panama City. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
