Rebecca ‘Becky’ Mitchell Barron passed away Saturday July 5, 2025 at the age of 78. She was born December 14, 1946 to Marie Gallaher and the late Kirby Mitchell. Becky was the owner of two dress shops in Columbus MS, Something Special and Barron’s. She loved the time spent there with her friends and customers. She later moved to Destin, Florida and work for Crye-Leike Realty as a realtor for several years. She was an avid gardener, her roses were her joy.
She is survived by her daughter, Claire Barron of Gulfport; mother, Marie Lyon of Cedar Bluff; sister, Angie Williams of Cedar Bluff; brother, Doug Mitchell of West Point; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father; a nephew, Jon Williams; and a brother, Ron Mitchell.
A memorial service will be 2 PM Thursday July 10, 2025 at Cedar Bluff Baptist Church with Rev. Chris Makamson officiating. Visitation with family and friends will be 1-2 PM Thursday at the church.
