Berneda Reed Obituary

Reed, Berneda Lucille of Flushing, age 96, died Wednesday, May 14, 2025 at her home.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm on Friday, May 16, 2025 at Rossell Funeral Home, 307 E. Main Street, Flushing with Rev. Ruth VanderSande officiating. Burial will follow at Flushing Cemetery. Family and friends will gather from 11:00am on Friday until the time of service.
Berneda was born in Owosso, Michigan on March 23, 1929, the daughter of the late Arthur and Almeda (Pearsall) Fitzgerld. She was a graduate of Chesaning Union High School and Mott School of Nursing. Berneda married Laurence Reed on November 11, 1950. She was a member of the Flushing United Methodist Church and Eastern Stars.
Berneda lived a full life on the farm she and Laurence owned on Nichols Rd. She enjoyed her career in nursing (McLaren Hospital, Office of Dr. Alvin Judd & Owosso Memorial Hospital), spending time with her children, Fitzgerald and Reed families, her church, sewing, baking (she was a fabulous baker) and summer vacations in Pentwater with her cherished grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is survived by children, daughter Victoria (William) Noecker of MI, Marcia Reed (Chip Hoffman) of AZ and Daniel Reed of NY; grandchildren, William Noecker Jr, Christine Noecker, Tamara (Shawn) Borowicz, Stephanie (Jay) Gioventu, Jessica Reed (Mathew) Harrison and Cullen Reed; great-grandchildren, Zachary (Hannah) Noecker, Drexel Noecker, Ashley Payne, Mathew Payne, Andrew Payne, Adrian Noecker, Brooklyn Harrison, Olivia Gioventu, Avery Harrison and Landon Gioventu; great-great grandchild, Brooks Noecker; many Fitzgerald and Reed nieces and nephews and dear friend Joyce Hampton.
She was preceded in death by husband of 58 years, Laurence Reed; son Douglas Reed; Fitzgerald siblings Clifford, Fred, Dorothy Augustine, Wanda Pincomb and twin sister Bernice Schultz.
