Bessie Bennett Obituary

Bessie Lee Bennett was born July 21, 1929, in Pitkin, Louisiana and passed away July 1, 2025, in Leesville, Louisiana at the age of 95. She lived most of her life in Vernon Parish and was a homemaker. Not only did she care for her family, but she also babysat for families in her community and was a wonderful neighbor. She spent many hours growing a garden and caring for the beautiful roses and other flowers that she grew. Bessie was preceded in death by her two husbands, James Jackson and T.C. Bennett; parents, John E. Rollins and Lydia M. Rollins; brothers, Ottins Rollins and Douglas Rollins; and sister, Evelyn Bynog. Those left to cherish her memory are her son, Archie Roy Jackson of Simpson, LA; sister, Mattie Gene Moore of Glenmora, LA; and good friends, Gerald and Sandra Cooley of Simpson, LA. A graveside service for Bessie will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 24, 2025, at Pine Island Cemetery in Simpson, Louisiana.
