Bette Rucker Obituary

BETTE MARIE RUCKER, of Howell, Michigan, 85, passed away July 3, 2025 following a long illness. Born February 1, 1940, in Houghton, Michigan, Bette was the daughter of Sylvia & Francis "Rosie" Richard. She was a 1958 graduate of Houghton High School. Bette, and her 4 daughters, were former long-time residents on Baraga Street, and she worked at the Ambassador before moving to Texas in 1983. Bette loved her family and spent as much time with them as she could. Her fondest memories were always with her girls and grandchildren. She loved to play card games and watch movies. Her famous Peanut Butter Balls were a favorite and she would make them every Christmas. In 2021, she moved back to Michigan. She is preceded in death by her parents, sister Delores "Bixie", Brother Frannie and Husband, Larry. She is survived by her 4 Daughters, Sandi (Pat) Dowd of Howell MI, Monica Morey of Muskegon MI, Karen Wiitala of Howell MI and Lisa (Jim) Newell of Katy TX, as well as 8 Grandchildren, and 11 Great Grandchildren. Bette will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. She was simply the best. A small family Celebration of Life will be held in the fall in Houghton, MI.
