Born in Hartsville, she was a daughter of the late Adalee Crowley Gainey.
Mrs. Anderson was a member of the Church of God of Prophecy and a retired cashier with Food Lion Grocers.
Surviving are a daughter, Linda Bochette (Laverne) of Sumter; a granddaughter, Betty Lynn Ardis (John); a grandson, Laverne Mitchell Bochette, Jr. (Cristy) all of West Columbia; three great-grandchildren, Ryan Ardis (Daz), Benjamin Bochette and Destaney Bochette; and one great-great-grandchild, Noella Green.
She was preceded in death by a son, Larry R. Anderson and a brother, Billy Gainey.
Services will be held at 1 P.M. Wednesday, July 2, 2025, in the Chapel of the Elmore Hill McCreight Funeral Home with Bishop Edward Fleming, D.Min. officiating.
Burial will follow in the Anderson Cemetery in Timmonsville.
The family will receive friends from 6 P.M. to 8 P.M. Tuesday at the Elmore Hill McCreight Funeral Home and other times at the home of her daughter.
Memorials may be made to the Church of God of Prophecy, 718 Boulevard Road, Sumter, SC 29153.

Ms. Betty was the epitome of grace and love...never a harsh word but always always basked in kindness. I know those young people at Food Lion learned from her and I pray her legacy lives on
