Betty Lou Ashby went home to be with the Lord on Friday, July 12, 2025 at the age of 84. She was born on February 26, 1941 to William and Anita (Harlohs) Schaefer as Betty Lou Schaefer. She married Louis D. Ashby on June 19, 1977. Betty was preceded in death by her parents William and Anita, her husband, Louis, sisters Annie Lee Roberson, Vera Brooks, Evelyn Chain and Mary Bell, and her brother Ivan Schaefer. She is survived by her stepchildren Carl Ashby and wife Gina, Deborah Blonde and husband Mark and Louis Ashby Jr., Grandchildren James Blonde and wife Marlene, Matthew Blonde, Amy Tones, Jason Ashby and wife Jodi, and Robert Tones. Surviving great grandchildren Derek Blonde, Max Blonde, Ben Blonde, Jade Williams, Jenny Ashby, Jaime Ashby, Josie Ashby and Lucy Blonde and numerous other great grandchildren, nephews, nieces and a host of friends.
Visitation will be held at Mission Park Funeral Chapels North at 3401 Cherry Ridge in San Antonio, TX on Friday, July 18, 2025 between 10:00 am - 11:00 am. A Graveside service will follow at Mission Burial Park North at 20900 IH10, San Antonio, TX immediately following the viewing at 11:30.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to the Dementia Society of America.
