Betty J. Dwyer, 73, of Eldon, Missouri passed away Friday, August 15, 2025 at Capital Region Medical Center in Jefferson City, Missouri. She was born February 7, 1952 in Poplar Bluff, Missouri the daughter of the late James Wilson and Wilma Florene (Lambeth) Fleming. On January 26, 1973 in Independence, Missouri she was united in marriage to Mickey Dwyer who preceded her in death on December 28, 2002.

Children, James Michael Dwyer, Jr. (E.J.) of Columbia, MO; Lucinda "Cindy" Mae Gore of Kaiser, MO; Ruby Rebecca "Becky" White (Shane) of Eldon, MO

Bonus Daughter, Danielle Marie Kirkweg (James) of Eldon, MO

Grandchildren, Christopher Gore (Elizabeth) of Springfield, MO; Russell Williams (McKinley) of Overland Park, KS; Taryn Dwyer (Fiancé Jay Hess) of Columbia, MO; Phillip Staum of Kansas City, MO; Curtis Gore of Sabine Pass, TX; Caitlin White (Fiancé Caleb Parisi) of Fairfield, MA; Ian White of Eldon, MO

Bonus Grandchildren, Mason (Emma Tompkins); Jacob and Madison Kirkweg all of Eldon, MO

Great-Grandchildren, Anders Gore (her favorite) of Springfield, MO; Silas and Delilah Parisi of Fairfield, MA

Bonus Great-Grandchildren, Charles and Hazel Kirkweg of Eldon, MO

Brothers, Virgil Fleming of Frisco, TX; Tony Fleming (Patty) of Kansas City, KS; Timothy Fleming (Jody) of Warsaw, MO

Along with her husband, a sister-in-law, Leslie Fleming preceded her in death.

Many Cousins, Nieces and Nephews

Betty was a 1970 graduate of Truman High School in Independence, MO. She was employed with Fasco Industries for twenty years and retired in 1999. She was co-owner of Mickey's Heating and Air, and was also employed with Hawthorne Bank for 13 and a half years, and with Paul's Supermarket in Eldon, MO. Betty didn't know a stranger and thought of everyone as family. She loved watching her grandchildren play sports and traveling with her close friends Cherrel and Janet. She was an avid fan of the St. Louis Cardinals and Kansas City Chiefs and would occasionally get caught watching a New England Patriots game.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, August 24, 2025 from 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM at the Eldon Community Center and all are asked to wear your favorite Chiefs apparel.

Memorials in her name are suggested to the Wounded Warrior Project or The Shriner's Children's Hospital.
