Betty Jane Havens
November 11, 1938 - July 8, 2025
Betty Jane Havens, a beloved mother, grandmother, and faithful servant of Christ, passed
away peacefully on July 8, 2025, in Snowflake, Arizona. She was 86 years old.
Born on November 11, 1938, in Libertyville, Illinois, Betty spent her early years there and
attended school through the 11th grade before relocating to Arizona, where she later
earned her GED in 1982.
Betty dedicated much of her professional life to serving others, working as a home health
nurse and as a clerk for Sears from 1986 to 1995. More importantly, she devoted her life to
sharing the love of Jesus. Saved in Arizona in the 1980s, Betty never stopped telling others
about her Savior.
She moved to Show Low, Arizona, in 1992 and actively attended Calvary Chapel, later
joining Calvary Baptist Church in May 2012. Together with her late husband, Fred Havens
(who preceded her in death in 2004), Betty served in a children's clown ministry that
brought joy and the gospel to young hearts.
Her tireless commitment to ministry included years of service in Vacation Bible School and
Operation Christmas Child. Betty was known for her warm hospitality, faithfully arriving
early every week to prepare coffee for her Seniors' Bible study and ensuring every monthly
birthday was celebrated with cake. She was a loving and generous soul, always ready to
talk about Jesus and always inspiring those around her with her joy and faith.
Betty was also preceded in death by her son, Kevin Havens, in 2020. She is survived by
three grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 2, at Calvary
Baptist Church, 241 E. McNeil, Show Low, AZ 85901.
