Betty Lou Heien, 94, went to her heavenly home on July 9, 2025 in Marlow, Oklahoma.
Visitation will be open to the public on Wednesday, July 16, 2025 between 12:00 pm and 7:00 pm.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm, Thursday, July 17, 2025 at the First Baptist Church in Marlow with Dr. Joe Ligon officiating. Private burial services at the Fairlawn Cemetery in Snyder will be held at a later date. A reception is planned in the atrium following the service. Arrangements are under the direction of Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral and Cremation Services.
Betty was born on September 26, 1930 to Charlie and Ruby (Rhodes) Willis in Manitou, Oklahoma. She graduated with the Snyder Class of '48. Betty married the love of her life, David Lee Heien, on April 9, 1950 in Snyder. Betty and David moved to Marlow in the late 50's where they owned and operated Marlow Lumber and raised their family. They enjoyed every day of their 67 years together before he preceded her in death on February 21, 2018. Betty liked working in her flower beds, oil painting, and crocheting. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Marlow, and she cherished the time she spent studying the Bible every day. Betty was a very faithful servant and could always be found sharing the love of Jesus.
Betty is survived by her son, Grady Heien of Marlow; daughter, Barbara Johnson and husband, Larry of Marlow; grandchildren, Jerry Boyles and wife, Michele, Steven Boyles, Zane Houck and wife, Lara, and Aubrey Houck; great-grandchildren, Heather Gulli and husband, Tim, Patrick Pilkington, Austin Boyles, Hadley Boyles, and Baker Zane Houck; great-great-granddaughter, Aurora Gulli; brother, Eugene Willis and wife, Joyce of Las Vegas; sister, Aletta Winslett and husband, Charles of Arab, AL; and son-in-law, Dewayne Boyles.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Charlie and Ruby Willis; her loving husband, David Heien; her daughter, Beverly Boyles; her siblings, Wanda Jackson and husband, Vernie, Coletta Willis, Imogene Winslett and husband, Howard; and her brother-in-law Robert Heien and wife, Julia.
