Betty Lou Hunt, age 90, of Harrison, Arkansas, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on July 11, 2025 with those she loved dearest with her nearby.
Betty was born June 19, 1935, at Mt. Sherman, Arkansas to Beecher and Jewel (Sanders) Kilgore. She was a resident of Newton and Boone County having also lived in Kansas City and California for a time. Betty loved being outside, hiking, hunting and fishing with husband, Bob and family and friends. Betty was an Arkansas State Archery champion. She taught school in the Harrison school system as a hearing impaired interpreter and a special education paraprofessional for 27 years. She loved the Lord Jesus and attended Northvale Baptist Church for many years after returning from California.
Betty is preceded in death by her husband, Bob, her parents; 3 brothers, Fayette Kilgore and Ed Kilgore both of Kansas City, MO; Freddy Kilgore of Jasper and 3 sisters, Francis Henderson of Parthenon, Vestal Shuck of Wichita, KS and Hazel McElroy of Kansas City; and baby brother that was still born.
She is survived by her son, Todd and wife, Wen Wen Hunt of Harrison; stepdaughter, Karen Wilson of Clinton, MO; sister, Marilyn Turney of Harrison; and by grandchildren, Nathanael and Angela Hunt, Robbie, Jason, and Timothy Wilson and other nieces, nephews, family and friends what will mourn her passing.
Cremation services are being handled by Coffman Funeral Home of Harrison. Memorial Service will be July 17, 2025 at 10:00 AM at Coffman Funeral Home with son, Todd Hunt, officiating. There will be a private scattering of ashes at the Kilgore family home on Mt. Sherman in the near future.
