Betty Sue Mosier, 86, passed away peacefully on July 21, 2025. She was born on June 8, 1939, in Scottsburg, Indiana to the late Earl and Olive (Hardy) Surber, Betty was a lifelong resident of the area and a graduate of Scottsburg High School in the class of 1958. On April 27, 1956 she married the love of her life, Richard Mosier, he preceded her in death. She worked as a Nurses Aide at the old Scott County Hospital for 14 years. In her pursuit of a full and rich life, Betty was a past member of the Order of the Eastern Star and Kimberlin Creek Baptist Church. She filled her days with passions that included gardening, traveling to Florida, and camping. Betty took great delight in auto and furniture upholstery, creating beautiful and functional pieces that brought warmth and style to her home. However, she will always be lovingly remembered for her extraordinary culinary skills, which brought friends and family together around the dinner table. Betty was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Richard L. Mosier; and son, Mark A. Mosier, great-granddaughter, Payton Ward and daughter-in-law, Joyce Mosier. Betty was a devoted mother to children, Richard L. "Rick" Mosier, Michael L. Mosier and his wife, Tammy and Deborah L. Jett and her husband, Kenny; sister, Janice Fletcher; her loving grandchildren, Matthew Mosier, Neil (Brittany) Mosier, Dwayne (Tesla) Bratcher, Travis (Casey) Jett, Amanda (Rob) Gallion, Stacy (Jody) Kiefer, Tracy (Jake) Hatter, Stephanie (Loren) Mosier, Kasee (Cody) Hobbs and Kari (Anel) Lizdo; great grandchildren, Shaelyn, Makenzie, Briley, Kory, Avery, Reagan, Emma, Ty, Dawson, Rhett, Baker, Kade, Olivia, Tristian, Kaden, Cayden, Chloe, Brendan, Mariah, and Cierra all of whom adored her deeply. Betty's spirit and loving nature touched the lives of so many, and her legacy will live on in the hearts of those who knew her. Funeral services and ceremonies to honor Betty Sue Mosier will be held on Tuesday, July 29, 2025 at 11:00am, at Collins Funeral Home in Scottsburg. Please gather with Betty's family for the visitation on Monday, July 28, 2025 from 4:00pm to 7:00pm and prior to the service on Tuesday starting at 10:00am. Betty will be laid to rest next to her husband, Richard L. Mosier at Kimberlin Creek Cemetery in Scottsburg, Indiana. In this time of sorrow, we extend our deepest condolences to Betty's family and all those who loved her. May her memory be a blessing and a source of comfort to all who knew her.
