This is to honor my aunt Betty Wiechert, who passed away July 19, 2025. She was born in Baker City, Oregon on July 31, 1943, and was 81 years old. She lived in Prineville for over 30 years.

Her parents were Velma (English) and Roy McKown from Scottish Irish heritage.

Preceded in death by her husband Andrew Robert Wiechert, and their only daughter, Jill Kathleen Baro.

Betty and her husband had many accomplishments. Which included running their own dental lab, owning an antique shop and running a historic Prineville bed and breakfast.

Betty loved animals and was a wonderful pet owner. She was a doer when it came to all crafts. Betty painted, refinished, and restored every piece of furniture in her home. Her love of antiques, miniature making, doll making, embroidery and sewing, made her home exceptionally beautiful. She even wrote a historic novel.

Surviving family members include her dear sister Sandra Oseguera and four granddaughters, Maci Kelly, Ashley Pielstick, Kaylie Baro and Korey Baro. She is also survived by nine great grandchildren and her niece Sharon Hammond. Sharon's husband Don was very dear to Betty. Her brother-in-law Christopher Wiechert spent many Saturday afternoons visiting with her.

Special mention goes out to Robyn Pope, a very loved family friend who always kept in touch.

Betty touched our lives. We will miss her.
