Born on June 9, 1927, in Armona, California, to Robert Williams and Blanche Humphries, Beverly grew up in a loving household with her brothers Bob and Jack. After the death of her father when she was just nine years old, the family moved to Manteca when she married Charlie Pettis. Beverly thrived in school and graduated as valedictorian of Manteca High School.
Though college wasn't within reach, Beverly pursued a career in Oakland at Gensler Lee Jewelers. In 1951, during a trip to Hoberg's in the wine country, she met the love of her life, Peter Carl Camozzi. They were married on April 20, 1952, and built a life full of music, family, and joy.
Together, they raised three children - Richard, Christopher, and DeAnn - and eventually settled in Foster City, where they would live for the rest of their lives. Beverly found her passion in fashion show commentary and was active with the Delta Kai Sigma Sorority and Mills Hospital events, often sharing the stage with her husband and son.
Beverly was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was known for her grace, sense of humor, and kindness. After Carl's passing, Beverly rekindled a friendship with a high school classmate, Leo Garcia, who became her devoted companion until his passing. Beverly continued to live independently, supported in her final years by her son Chris, caretakers Nettie and Lisa, neighbor Dana, and brother-in-law Scott.
She is remembered as a strong, elegant, and caring woman - someone who never complained, always believed in her children, and appreciated the simple pleasures, especially her beloved root beer.
Beverly's legacy lives on through her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and all who knew and loved her.
A celebration of her life will be held at Sneider & Sullivan & O'Connell's on Monday, August 11th at 10:30am.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Mission Hospice.
