Billy J. Brown, (Papa Bill) 89, of Hobbs passed away on July 19, 2025. Bill was born on November 8, 1935, to Ernie and Elnor Brown.
Bill married Faye on August 23, 1961. He is survived by his children, Jerald Vance (Maud) of Roswell, Kelly Brown (Kim) of Hobbs, Telisha Watson of Hobbs and David Brown of Albuquerque. Grandchildren, Kami Bryant, Jessica Ort, Matt Brown, Rebecca Price, Praxi Brown, Tristyn Brown, Eli Brown, James Vance and Kaira Vance, great-grandchildren Lukas and Alexis Ort, Charlotte, Bodie, and Mabel Brown and (Caleb due in January) and Ryder Price and his brother Gene Brown.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Ernie and Elnor Brown, wife Faye Brown and son Jimmy Vance, brother Cleo Brown and sister Genelle Beaty.
Bill Served in the army from 1958 to 1960, where he was stationed in Korea. First Calvary Division. Bill enjoyed watching Nascar and taking care of his lawn.
