Billie Lee Hawley, age 82, of Fort Smith, Arkansas, passed away on Saturday, June 14, 2025. A lifelong resident of the River Valley, Billie was born on November 30, 1942, in Fort Smith to Bill and Mildred (Callahan) Abshere.
Billie had a deep love for the outdoors-especially fishing, gardening, and spending time in her yard. She also enjoyed arts and crafts, often creating handmade treasures for her family and friends. A devoted Elvis Presley fan, Billie cherished the memory of seeing him at Fort Chaffee in 1958. Her home reflected her admiration, filled with Elvis memorabilia and the sound of his music, which always brought her joy.
She was a woman of strong faith and a proud member of Hope Church on the Riverfront for the past seventeen years.
Billie is survived by her children, Stephanie Flurry and Pamela Rice, both of Fort Smith, and Steven Flurry of Texas. She was also the proud grandmother of twenty-eight grandchildren; and her constant companion and beloved dog, Max. She was preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Mildred Abshere.
Billie will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her. Cremation is under the thoughtful care of River Glenn Cremation and Funeral Services.
