Billy Joe Busby, son of the late William Virgil Busby and Ruth May (Biggs) Busby, was born January 6, 1949, in Wardell, Missouri and departed this life on July 8, 2025, at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center in Poplar Bluff, Missouri at the age of 76 years, 6 months and 2 days. Billy married Gladys Jackson on July 19, 2003 in Kennett, Missouri.
Survivors include:
His wife: Gladys Busby of Holcomb, MO
Son: Billy Joe Busby, Jr of Dresden, TN
Step son: Ronnie Nelson of Risco, MO
Daughter: Venna Shae (Derek) Oldsen of Leachville, AR
Step daughter: Dina (Keith) Haley of Holcomb, MO
Grandchildren: Lindsey Jo (Anthony) Miller of Kennett, Ashley Marie (Ryan) Reeves of Quitman, AR
Adelyn Smith, Dawson Smith, Tyson Oldsen and Grace Oldsen all of Leachville, AR
Step-grands: Kim (JB) Harris and Max Haley both of Holcomb, MO
Great grandchildren: Three and on the way and three Step-great grands
other relatives and friends
Billy Joe was preceded in death by nine brothers and sisters.
Visitation will be 11:00 am to 12:00 pm Thursday, July 10, 2025 at the McDaniel Funeral Home in Kennett. Funeral Services will be 12:00 pm at the McDaniel Chapel in Kennett with Rev. Bill McCracken officiating. Burial will follow in Pine City Cemetery in Holcomb, Missouri. Honored to serve as pallbearers: Allen Williams, Steve Hightower, Derek Oldsen, Chris Smith, Anthony Miller and Dawson Smith. Honorary pallbearers: Billy Busby and Ronnie Nelson.
McDaniel Funeral Service of Kennett will be in charge of the arrangements.
