Born in Macon to the late John Wesley Cantrell and Ola Burell Cantrell, Mr. Cantrell was raised in Twiggs County. During his enlistment in the Army, he served his country in Vietnam. He worked as a truck driver at Bowman Trucking and in production at Blue Bird Body Company. He enjoyed the simple things of life, fishing and raising livestock.
Survivors include his son, Billy F. Cantrell Jr.; granddaughter, Megan Cantrell; and a sister, Louise Logan. He is preceded in death by his brother and sisters, Peggy Hardison, Weldon Cantrell, Betty Logan, and Lorene Cantrell.
Rooks Funeral Home in Byron is in charge of arrangements.
