Billy Gleen Clements, Sr., known as "Bill' was called upon by our Heavenly Father for life eternal on December 7th, 2024. Bill was born on December 31,1946 to Emily Lou Wambles-Clements and Joseph Wheeler Clements in Mobile, Alabama.
Bill was the middle child between Joe Elbert Clements and Janice Sue Clements-Jessup (Greg). He attended high School at Theadore High in Theadore, Alabama. He always talked about his days there racing fast cars during his youth.
He joined the US Navy immediately after high school graduation. He was one of the very few surviving members of the USS Frankie Evans. Bill seldom talked about his time in the Navy but had some great stories when he did.
After his time in the Navy, Bill became an over the road truck driver. He has driven through all the lower 48 states during his colorful 35 years on the road. He enjoyed the freedom of the open roads and told some great stories to anyone who would listen.
Bill was the faithful husband to Janey Sue Haddock-Clements for 43 years. He loved spending time with his wife and family. He also enjoyed his Massy Furguson tractor and spending time outdoors. Fishing was his favorite hobby, and he loved to fish the "big river".
Bill was proceeded in death by his mother; Emily Lou Wambles-Clements and his father Joseph Wheeler Clements as well as his son, Billy Gleen Clements Jr. He is survived by his wife, Janey Sue Haddock-Clements; his sons; Kenneth Wheeler Clements, Christopher Gleen Clements (Kristen) and William Grant Clements (Stephanie). He is also survived by his daughters; LeNee Clements-Chandler; Emily Sue Clements-Pate (Patrick) and Isabella Danyale Clements (Elijah). He was a loving Poppie to 15 grandkids and 9 great grandkids.
Bill was the portrait of the loving husband, absolute best father, and sincere friend. Bill will be deeply missed by anyone who ever knew him!
