Billy Roy Gettis, 66, of Neosho, Missouri, passed away on July 2, 2025. He was born on January 25, 1959, in Atlanta, Georgia, to Paul and Joyce (Holt) Gettis.
Billy married the love of his life, Paula Gibbens, on July 3, 1992, in Granby, Missouri. Together they built a life filled with love, family, and adventure. Billy had a deep passion for motorcycles and spent many joyful hours on the open road. His love for riding reflected his free spirit and zest for life.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Paula Gettis; his children, Shawna Luper of Neosho, MO; Danaille (Jeremiah) Hartson of Joplin, MO; and Matthew (Janice) Gettis of Joplin, MO. He was a proud grandfather to eight grandchildren. Billy also leaves behind two brothers, Bruce Whittey of Middlesex, NC, and Jimmy Gettis of North Carolina.
He was preceded in death by one sister and one brother.
A gathering to celebrate Billy's life will be held at the family home, 308 N High Street, Neosho, Missouri, on Sunday, July 6, 2025, from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. Friends and family are invited to join in remembrance and share their memories of Billy.
Billy will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
