Billy Morris 86, of Calhoun, Kentucky passed away Tuesday, July 15, 2025 at his home in Calhoun. William Cecil Morris was born May 30, 1939 in Calhoun, Kentucky to the late Edwin Cecil and Mary Madeline Anderson Morris, was married to the former Linda Joyce Cook on January 14, 1963 and was better known as 'Billy' to both his family and friends.
Billy earlier retired from Alcoa, Warrick Operations and later retired as a bus driver from McLean County Public School System. He was a U.S. Army Veteran, a member of the American Legion, and a member of the National Kennel Club. Billy loved rabbit hunting and training his dogs.
In addition to his parents, Billy was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Linda Joyce Morris, who died November 13, 2022; by two sons, Byron Keith Morris and Bruce Wayne Morris; by a daughter, Barbi Morris-Irby; by two brothers, David Morris and Jerry Morris; and by a son-in-law, Dean Smith.
Billy is survived by two daughters, Beth Smith of Owensboro and Clara Johnson (Wayne) of Bremen; a son-in-law, Mark Irby of Owensboro; two grandsons, Matthew Morris (Erin) and Shep Irby; four granddaughters, Taylor Morris, Jessica Benningfield (Greg), Gabby Smith, and Bella Irby; a great-granddaughter, Autumn Benningfield; and a sister, Betty Cox (Frankie) of Calhoun.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Friday, July 18, 2025 at Muster Funeral Homes, Calhoun Chapel. Burial will be in the Calhoun Cemetery in McLean County. Friends may visit with Billy's family from 10:00 A.M. until 1:00 P.M. Friday at Musters in Calhoun.
The Billy Morris family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to Calhoun Cemetery, Iron Fence Restoration Fund; C/O John Howard; 400 Guy Settle Loop; Calhoun, Kentucky 42327.
Billy's services will be streamed live on musterfuneralhomes.com at 1:00 P.M. Friday.
